With speakerphone I can keep them busy for ages, sparing some old lady their scamtastic doings whilst I get some work done.
Play along, act dumb-but-not-too-dumb, then slowly work up to telling them your computer's caught fire along with all your paperwork. ("Hang on, can I smell burning?")
