This is a link post Harry Connick Jr seamlessly adds an extra beat to get the audience clapping the right way
The audience were clapping on beats 1 and 3, which makes it all sound off-kilter, so HCJ added an extra beat (at about 40 seconds in) to push the clapping on to 2 and 4, all without the audience knowing a thing.

You can see the drummer lift his arms in celebration just after it happens.
