This is a link post Lockdown - the official board game of the pandemic I made this!

I've been making a thing with some friends. We're enjoying it and our playtest victims have enjoyed it so I'd be interested to know what other people think and whether you'd potentially consider buying a copy.

Hopefully sorting some vids out to show the gameplay.

graphics look good,
idea sounds interesting (for the moment) although I think people may really want to forget this whole lockdown thing after it's over
the board and the game play looks similar(ish) to Monopoly (which is a negative for me)
it appears completely luck based - how does strategy come in to this?

Largely in using the luck cards - do you play good luck on yourself or bad luck on someone else? It's not always obvious which is the best choice and it's sometimes better to play bad luck on yourself. We used a game modelling software called Machinations to get the balance right.

There are also hospital cards where you get an advantage at a cost and major scenarios where you can choose to do something but again, at cost or risk.

At heart it's a survival game so if we miss the zeitgeist it will work just as well for other disaster scenarios.

If it goes nowhere, at least we've had a lot of fun working on it and playing it.

probably too late, but you need a timer built in, so that every 5 minutes the government releases nonsensical/ meaningless guidelines that changes all the rules - that have penalties applied for not following them

This is a normal post That's not far off what Major Scenarios do
Every time someone rolls a 6 to move, the r number goes up. When it reaches a certain level a major scenario comes into play to fuck everyone up until you bring the r number back down.
