I've never seen it or read the books. Where does that leave me?

Although I have seen series (english for 'Seasons') 1&2 without reading the books but it seems to suffer the curse of any TV/Film adaptation from a book by not giving anywhere near enough detail or explanation of emotions / actions / events to make them coherent. Great actors / characters though.
*edit*
I bet this book is better than the TV series

Now do The Lord of the Rings and prepare one for Ender's Game.
They could do an album "Books I've read that became TV shows/Films.
It will be hilarious.
