The Woods Mill Kestrels raised six young this year (average brood size is four). Four have left the nest box already and it looks like the last two will go in the next 24 hours or so.

They don’t go far at first, I popped over there earlier and found two of the fledged young sitting on top of the box and a fifth perched in a tree behind.

Fugly I meant.
I saw a Kestrel hunting in the garden this year, at 2-3 metres they are shockingly quick. Makes a change from the usual buzzards.
