nanny state
Out of curiosity and being a geo I looked up studies on that section of coast, and there has been a good volumetric study since 2001. the average recessional rate for the cliffs there is 27 cm per year. given that your average landslip is around 2m, enough to involve the tent, you're looking at this catastrophic event every 8 years or so. So about 1/2840 chance of it happening on any one particular night. Which is half the fatality risk of the legal sport of parachuting, though to be fair I'm pretty sure they don't let you take your five year old with you on a jump. One should also note that in the study, in landslip slope failure, the majority are rotational, with the berm or cliff edge dropping several meters while the bottom spreads out, with toppling being much rarer. It would scare the shit out of you, but might not be fatal.
