I absolutely agree - you should always follow your cravings (or at least follow up on why you are craving specific foods).
My tip for anyone who is feeling rotten during illness, after illness, with a hangover, etc, is to simply go to your local supermarket, stroll slowly down the aisles and buy any foodstuffs that take your fancy, even if it's the oddest thing in the world. Then eat it in whichever combinations you prefer, regardless of how strange it might be.

Your body is trying to tell you what it needs - listen and nosh down. :)
