Last post therereminded me of Honda's MR2 marketing campaign severely backfiring in France.
'MR2' pronounced the French way (em-merd-eu) means 'shitty'.

The Sinclair Zike was veteran inventor, Sir Clive Sinclair's punt to the Dutch cycling market, being as it was a battery assisted bicycle.
Unfortunately, "Zike" translates as "Piss" in Dutch...
