This is a question Accidental animal cruelty

I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.

Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

Metro has this great article:

I particularly like the picture caption.

Go squirrel! I fucking hate opera.

You hate opera?
That's a shame. I'm a classical singer, with my sights set on doing opera. And we could have been such friends. *sobs*

Chortles....
Don't tell me you're not a squirrel lover?

Squirrels?
Dislike the grey ones, like the red ones. But that's mostly down to (a) reading the "Redwall" books when young, and (b) grey squirrels are taking over territory of the red ones. But part of me can't shake the fact that they're all rats dressed like trannys.

presumably...
... that's "accidental animal cruelty" in the sense of animals being accidentally cruel.

It's all in the parsing, dahhhling.

Squirrels
"Rats dressed as trannys" is the funniest description for a grey squirrel I've yet read. Good work.

I agree on the issue of reds being wiped out. I've only ever seen one red squirrel in my life, in Thetford forest when I was a child. It was dead.

That said, I have a weakness for pretty much anything that's furry and cute. Except rabbits, which are known bastards.

Red squirrels
There's plenty of red squirrels around these parts. In some areas they outnumber the grey ones, and there are road signs up on some stretches of road warning of their presence. It's actually quite useful as you know what kind of squirrel it is that you've squashed with your wheel.

PJM: I've seen lots of red squirrels
But only one in the UK (up at a National Trust place in Northumberland called Cragside). The rest were when I used to live in New Jersey, there were loads of them then.
