I have cats so I never shut a door because as every cat owner knows if there is a door shut your cat goes...

Funnily enough.With my 30 odd years looking after cats (roughly 6 cats) I've never had a cat scratch at a door. Dunno if it's luck or not. They'll sit and meow at a door, or meow at me to follow them to a door. However not one has scratched or even attempt to scratch a door.
