I dunno. I do remember getting a belting from one of our teachers on a day off school once though.
Because a bunch of us decided to go down to the local special school, which didn't have a day off that day, and chant "[SCHOOL'S NAME DELETED ON LEGAL ADVICE] LOONY BIN!" at them from the other side of their playground fence and one of their teachers heard us and phoned him up.
And then I got a worse belting off my mam when I got home because teacher'd grassed us all up to our parents.
But hey, back then mocking the afflicted was called 'Making your own entertainment' and adults whacking the shit out of kids wasn't frowned upon.
