.Having two small children, I'm glad we live in a house without an upstairs.
When I were a nipper, me and my brother used to climb outside the house, from my bedroom to his, by inching along a 4" window sill, about 30 feet over a concrete patio.
I was probably 3 or 4 at the time, a fact I know becuase we moved from that house when I was 5.
