Rushing to make the 17:03 from Charing Cross to London Bridge on Friday evening......approaching the steps at the St Martin's end of the station to be confronted by the sight of a toothless lady tramp, traccy bottoms round her ankles happily piddling down the steps.
She turned round, met my eye and spoke "'Scus me gov'nor, I'm pregnant. Don't s'pose you wanna buy a Big Issue?" while dabbing away at her crotch with a discarded tissue.
Full marks for that comeback.
