...done that one, and if you ever get the chance, junction 40 of the M6. Head towards the coast.
Driving through the lakes and for 2 miles, there is a dual carriage way that is, well, a race track. It is perfect. My wife usually drives but I always do that bit!

yeah, nice views on that bit of the A66 but there's always a fair police presence...what with that junction being 5 minutes from the regional police headquarters.
and you're heading towards Workington, which is never a good thing.
