Fresh from the oven ... Mmmmmm
I have fond memories of them. Back in the 80's after a hard night at the local Rock club (the original Bogeiz before it was demolished) we would walk home at 3am. Our route would take us down Cowbridge road, past the Clarks pie shop and bakery, where if you knocked on the door, you could purchase a piping hot fresh from the oven Clarks pie in a brown paper bag for pennies from the night staff.
I believe the saintly Terry Wogan has a soft spot for them too, refering to them as "Atomic Turtles" due to their shape and the ferocious temperature the filling can get up to.
