This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

Mini disc man
Christmas 2003. I don't have a pc. In some deranged stupidity my thought process and then life went exactly like this:

I want a discman as my last one had lost its battery
iPod?
Haven't got a pc
Won't therefore download music
Everyone with ipods has to buy a pc, then download their cd's
Searched... (why?) Found discman battery
Minidiscs look cool and a few mates had players
Minidisc man (£200!!!!) has a FREE cd player with it (never mind I found the battery to my better one)
And a lead to connect to cd player to transpose the music over
And you could download MP3 onto minidisc man (realised later this was a lame attempt by Sony to counter the ipod
Done - minidiscman for xmas
Buy laptop for work two months later
Minidiscs stop being made
Buy ipod

WTFWIthinking????????????????????????????????

Kept the boxes and packaging pristine for ebay purposes.

Store minidisc man in loft with boxed and packaged Mastersystem, game boy, NES, SNES, PS2

Go to see if they work on ebay some years later...

None of them work.

Big Doh.

That said - minidisc EQ and sound quality and earphones = mega beat my ipod and sennheisers x 1,000,000. And lcd screen was a cool blue.
