This is a question Ignorance

I once was in a programming class where the task was "build a calculator". A student did one with buttons 1, 2, 3 all the way up to about 25 and then ran out of space on the screen. We've asked this before but liked it so much we're asking again: What's the best example of ignorance you've encountered?

Overheard comment from extremely fat person while walking up to the acropolis in Athens
"Why did the Greeks have to build all their monuments on hills?"

Ha. I swear, I heard exactly the same in Pompeii.
A fat American woman said 'WHy didn't they make it flat like at Disney?'

Funny you should mention Pompeii...
... heard a parent promise a fat kit (almost spherical) that there was a Taco Bell at the top of Vesuvius in an attempt to get him moving/rolling.

Conversely, my brother heard an american tourist remark that it was good of the scots to build edinburgh castle so close to the station

I had a american couple ask me
"is that the castle?" pointing to the large castley thing looming over the city. I told them is was just the theme park as the real castle was so far away.

"hey that's neat" they replied and waddled off

That reminds me
Of the apocryphal Merkin who asked why they "built Windsor Castle so close to the freeway".
