One of the screws for the switch plate is crushing a wire when done up tight?
Crushing the live onto the metal which is earthed and trips the RCD?
Easy to fix if that's the case - pull a little more wire through, trim back the damaged bit and screw back up making sure the wires are well away from the screw holes.
