There's a lovely story I once readin a biography of Peter Sellers. He'd just bought a brand new Rolls Royce (this was in the 70s, as he was becoming something of a Hollywood star - not during his Goon Show days), and it had an annoying squeak. He'd called on Spike Milligan to help him find it; Spike drove as Peter lay in the boot listening for it.
Driving around London at 3am the inevitable happened and they got pulled over. Imagine the surprise of the police officer on elegantly-dressed Peter getting out of the boot, and suavely wishing the officer a good evening.
Not quite as funny as Spike turning up at newly-married Peter's flat in the wee hours, and ringing the door bell stark naked. When Peter answered the door, Spike asked "can you recommend a good tailor?"
