I pick up carefully-selected hitchersand once took a chance on a rough-looking chap, who turned out to be on his way to the next city to surrender to bail.
Dropped him off near the cop shop in good time, to his huge relief. Didn't ask him about his alleged offence, but as he was a perfect gentleman and good company it must've been a fit-up. Hah.
