This is a question Cheap Tat

OneEyedMonster remindes us about the crap you can buy in pound shops: "Batteries that lasted about an hour and then died. A screwdriver with a loose handle so I couldn't turn the damn screw, and a tape measure which wasn't at all accurate."

Similarly, my neighbour bought a lawnmower from Argos that was so cheap the wheels didn't go round, it sort of skidded over the grass whilst gently back-combing it.

What's the cheapest, most useless crap you've bought?

Macintrash
I dreamt last night that my Macbook half melted next to a radiator, and then fell apart in my hands. I dreamt I was gonna go out and buy a Macbook Pro with the insurance money.

Of course, in real life Apple stuff is top quality. Which is why my Mighty Mouse scroll wheel never works no matter how much I clean it (or no matter how much sticky stuff my fingers lay all over it :))

Fuck apple...
...and all who sail in her. I'm no MS fanboy, but I'd take be beaten to death with a stick over having to use a Mac again.

My web designer friend
swears by Macs, but they have always reminded me of Eighties handbags. Must be because of the cheesy, white design.

ITat?
You're right. The question is bout cheap tat. But,you may have noticed, that the QOTW tends to encompass anything even vaguely related to the question.(Or if I've been drinking while posting, it may bear no resemblance whatsoever to the question. I'm that mad I am)

But my hatred of Apples comes from the time I was trying to get TCP/IP to work on one of the bastards (this was when they all had their own networking system called "AppleTalk" ) and the machine smugly told me:

"You don't need to know how to do that"

I threw the patronising fucker across the room.
