Cheap TatOneEyedMonster remindes us about the crap you can buy in pound shops: "Batteries that lasted about an hour and then died. A screwdriver with a loose handle so I couldn't turn the damn screw, and a tape measure which wasn't at all accurate."
Similarly, my neighbour bought a lawnmower from Argos that was so cheap the wheels didn't go round, it sort of skidded over the grass whilst gently back-combing it.

everlasting watch (nearly)I bought a watch for £120 which is powered by light. I never need to change the battery, it can last 3 months without needing to see any light at all before it runs out and has a two clip fastening which doesnt come unclipped the second i catch it on anything. All in all an excellent buy.
I also have a £5 watch i bought from argos for when i went to india. Only used it once and its still sitting in my wardrobe. I think its silly to have one for best. how often will you actually wear it?
