Hardtails for single track!I was looking at that same cycle in a store recently and when I mentioned I ride single track and XC mostly the sales guy looked me right in the eye and asked how long I've had haemorrhoids. Dick.

Yep, I too love to ride singletrack, but I want a bike that'll handle rocky descents and flatter my modest abilities. The Marin succeeds at all these in spades.

Wish I could've...But the same guy did me an outrageously good deal on a Specialized Epic Expert. He might've had the last laugh but I got a grand off a new bike so I'm claiming the win (in my mind)
