my christeningmy parents were all set to get an 18-month-old Smash christened, when mum found out she was expecting again, so they decided to wait and get us both done at the same time. my new baby sister was a bit poorly, so by the time of the christening, she was 6 months old and i was 3 years.
according to mum, all was going well. sis was done first, then the vicar put the holy water on my head.
"get off!" i shouted, "i've already had a bath today!"
the vicar laughed, the congregation laughed, mum went atomic red with shame.
in the following 33 years, she hasn't set foot in that church again.
