Shit Claims to Fame II
My car was in the Specsavers advert with the old lady and the loud stereo. Not me. My stupid blue Nissan Micra. Tell us about your brushes with fame.

Eric Clapton walked past me
Outside Harrod's. Was helping my Mum get in the car and there were two blokes walking down the street, suddenly a third bloke ran in front of him and snapped off about 10 shots in a second before running off and the beardier of the two blokes shouted at him, calling him a toe rag. Just as he walked past I realised and whispered to my Mum, "that was Eric Clapton." Then we went home, I think we had Little Chef for tea.

Eric Clapton
walked past me when I worked at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham.
I was late and sneaking up the tunnel that runs alongside the auditorium. It was pitch black and I didn't identify the looming figure until he was about 2 inches from me.
I'm a big fan and wish I'd said SOMETHING but was too surprised to think.
I had McDonald's for tea tonight.

I Think
Descriptions of having Eric Clapton walk past you should be a QOTW unto itself. I also wish I'd said something but didn't. Mainly as I was holding my Mum's wheelchair so she could slide across into the car seat, so I'd have had to have let go, meaning she'd probably have fallen and it wouldn't have been the right introductory impression to give old Slow Hand himself. Callous, even.
