I don't understand the attractionSmaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

There's a big differencebetween the stuff he did 20 - 30 years ago, and his stand-up now. I went to see him about 15 years ago and he was brilliant; recent stuff, not so good.
An Audience with Billy Connolly is still one of the funniest pieces of stand up I've ever seen. It was about the right mix of absurd situation observational comedy; now it just seems to be observational but without a punchline.
