I don't understand the attraction
Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

I'm not saying he's not intelligent, he clearly is, and I'm just saying that I find him a hugely overrated entertainer. I think his humour - even the 'shocking' stuff - is very corporate somehow. There's no edge, for me.
Compare him with someone like Lenny Bruce, or even Chic Murray, who once bellowed at a fan (another actor) who had come up to him at Glasgow Central Station "How dare you importune me in this way! No, sir, I will not go with you to the public lavatory!" Apparently the whole station stopped for a second or two before erupting into laughter as they recognised the pair. That's fearless comedic power.
