This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Climate change denialists
Broadly I agree with them - if you look at our planet's temperature, we are experiencing an upward blip on a downward curve towards the next ice age - but that's in geological time. Sadly, us humans live in historical time, and for us that blip could last thousands of years. The point is though, unless you happen to be in the pay of one of the big oil companies and are profiting massively, surely conserving resources is just simple common sense?

But but but....
The last upwards blip of this magnitude happened over several thousands of years (i.e. geological time) while this one has occured over a few hundreds of years (i.e. since the industrial revolution).

Oh I totally agree with you
like I say, we live in historical time and by those standards we're pretty fucked

I just don't get all these people who vehemently deny that there's a problem at all

Name one actual source.
Anthropogenic climate change may, or may not, be occuring -- so far there have been no correctly peer reviewed papers or any figures released to prove either.
This is a money-grabbing excersize by politicians and nothing more.
We should be preparing for climate change, not paying morons who tell us it is our fault.

Surely
if oil is running out and the planet is going to die through our sue of it, then it's our duty to use it all up as soon as possible.

I agree about conserving resources though - hence I have fake, velcro numberplates that affix to my car when I go to petrol stations. I conserve quite a bit of my 'resources' that way.
