This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Obama
I'm sure he's a lovely man and very kind to kittens. I'm equally sure that he's not much more of a leader than a bottle of beer. It's nothing to do with his politics, since I was never going to be fond of them. It's just a bit boring that people love him so much.

And this one might be unpopular- hen nights. I love a good party, or even a really bad party with lots of booze. But I genuinely cannot understand the penis rulers, pink fluffy wings, the 'I'm a slut for tonight badges' etc. It looks very cold, and I'm not really a massive fan of single sex gatherings. Luckily I'm not really yet of an age where I've had to worm out of many. Plus who in hell wants to be a hen?!

Obama
He is not a lovely man. The policies of the bush crime family regime are continuing & escalating unabated.

The US is corporate run thievery, bolstered by an almost totally propagandized media run by said corporations.

The current figurehead & puppet presents a more reasonable front. Nothing else has changed.

No end to the Military Industrial Complex. Erosion of personal freedoms, no Universal Health Care (but billions for empire building). Blatent, unapologetic corruption & crimes from top to bottom in the political arena.

No, he is not a lovely man in ways that truly count. The US is a one party corporate ownership posing as a two party "choice" with no real progressive issues allowed.

I am a USer and my government does not speak or act for me or in my interest.

and then
a Nobel Peace Prize!!!!!!!!
How did that happen?
Can't dis the man for anything he's said or done he still seems streets ahead of anything else political in the US but a peace prize?
stroll on.

Peace Prize?
Kissinger got one also. Read a little about him during the Nixon years.

As for Obama, articulate flowery words mean nothing. His actions are a continuing of the worst of the bush era.

You really need to read beyond the hype. The hype is what keeps the US citizens worshiping personality rather than deeds.

Try www.commondreams.org for some taste of reality by the progressive voices the main stream corporate media ignores.
