There is no reason for phones to have any openings at all these days
Memory? - build it in
Charger? - inductive loop (even my toothbrush has this)
Earphones? - Bluetooth
Wifi?- WiFi
GSM? - you get the idea.
It could just be a solid block of glass with the right wirelessness.
