I think that's where they'd got it from - perhaps confusing "restored" with "built from scratch". I love the restoration purely for the very respectable gentleman who comes on in his glasses and three-piece suit to say, in marvellously precise c.1958 BBC English, "now these we're going to be putting back, and that's all fine. But those three stones we know to have been knocked over by the Romans, so we won't be putting those up as it's a valid piece of ancient history."
