Controversial Beliefs
Some mugs still think the MMR injection gives children autism (it doesn't), while others are of the belief that we're ruled by billionaire lizard people. Tell us about views outside the mainstream which people go glassy eyed if you bang on about them (Your grandad's a racist - no need to tell us, thanks)

I think you mean "refugees".
An asylum seeker is someone who seeks asylum. A refugee is someone who is actually recognised as in need of international protection (technical terms here).
Someone in genuine need of international protection has a case to be made. However not all people who seek asylum actually qualify. Unfortunately, a lot of people abuse the system, claiming that they will be persecuted in their own country - when really they're just lying or exaggerating, and the truth is that they're economic migrants. Now I'm not going to get into the whole debate about economic migrants here, and whether or not the doors should be open or closed - but the point is that not all economic migrants have suffered untold horrors, and that there is a tendency to lie in order to be granted status.
(Cue leftie attacks here...)
