ThatNiceMan asks: Have you ever been talking with people down the pub when somebody throws such a complete curveball (Sample WTF moment: "I wonder what it's like to get bummed") that all talk is stopped dead? Tell us!

Tranny mag Mike
Our friend was one of the first of us to land a job. Mike managed to swing a job in a game shop in town (back in late 90's which was pretty sweet). Well anyway to of the lads went in one day to have a nosy. Frank and Peter were browsing round the shop and Pete being as chatty as ever talks the ear of the young guy behind the desk explaining who they are and how they know Mike.

Now Frank see's a game he likes asks the guy to hold it and runs to an ATM. Soon as he's out the door Shop guy swings to Pete and says "So thats tranny mag Frank". Eh, what? Well turns out shop used to be a porn shop and all the old mags had just been left. The only items that had been left unclaimed was a huge pile of Tranny Porn, which was claimed by Mike in the name of Frank.

Well, Frank gets back and is suitably shocked to learn of his new fetish. But the lads explain and no more is said. Til, Mike calls over a few days later with a new Dreamcast game (dead or alive 2). Now in that game theres a fairly fem black fella and Pete immediatly started picking him all the time. Comments ensued "Ooooo he looks nice in that top" etc... Now being young there was a fair bit of sniggering but no way was anyone calling Mike out on it.

Fun and games over we headed out to the chippy and all was forgotten. Chatting away outside and eating chips we saw Pete's twin Joe stride across the local green, walk straight up to Mick and say "what's all this about your Tranny mags". Conversation was killed at that stage.

Now I get it.
So he reclaimed the unclaimed mags that were claimed by Mike in the name of Frank?

No. That was Steve.

Right...
I haven’t been so confused with names since I tried reading War and Peace.
I had to put together a companion guide:
THE CAST
Mike: works in a game shop
Frank: friend of Mike
Peter or Pete: friend of Mike
Unnamed shop assistant (USA)
Joe: Peter’s twin
OPENING SCENE – FUN AND GAMES
Mike and unnamed shop assistant (USA) behind the counter of game shop
Pete is chatting to USA while Frank peruses the games.
Frank spots game he likes and runs out to get some cash
(OK, so far so good…but pay attention, it’s about to get tricky)
USA tells Pete that Frank is known as Tranny Mag Frank.
He goes on to explain that this is because a whole pile of transsexual porn mags that had been left in the shop had been claimed by Mike for Frank.
Frank returns and is shocked to find out about this.
His mates, however, explain what has happened and no more is said.
SCENE TWO – DEAD OR ALIVE
A few days later
Mike arrives at someone’s house with the Dead or Alive 2 Dreamcast game. While playing the game, Pete repeatedly picks an effeminate black character.
This leads to some fairly gentle homophobic ribbing.
But no way was anyone calling Mike out on it (The meaning of this bit is lost on me, so I’ve left it as is)
FINAL SCENE – THE CHIPPY
All is forgotten as they head out to the chip shop.
But as they're chatting away outside and eating their chips, who should stride across the green but Pete’s twin brother Joe.
He walks straight up to Mick and says: “What’s all this about your tranny mags”
Conversation dies
THE END
Aaah ok…now I understand…I think
(, Fri 13 May 2011, 16:05, closed)
Excellent interpretation
No one was going to say that we knew Mike had the tranny mags at home. He wasn't present in the shop when we found out.

Aaaaah now I got ya!
