Canadian banks are a bit behind the times to say the least.
I'd say mostly clueless but they actually seem to be very good at extracting money for no-services rendered.
Mine recently discovered internet banking and is proudly announcing its innovation as something quite astonishingly wonderous.
I've heard of joint accounts being emptied on monies to pay off another account in the same family; despite being illegal, banks seem to think nothing of it.
My lawyer advised to me have my different accounts with different banks to avoid this kind of "mistake".
