Colon is the Spanish name for ColumbusThere are many "Hotel Colons" in Equador, and yes, I did laugh a lot before I found out the reason (and a bit afterwards as well).

I've stayed thereNot a brilliant hotel but clean and well maintained and had a 1/4 decent bar downstairs IIRC.
