Not really me but my brother:
At his university they had a party because of the new VAT of 15% meaning cheaper booze - the slogan being "cheers, Darlin'!"

Tax on beer
Did he realise thar beer continues to be taxed at a higher rate cos the govt don't want us having any fun without chucking them a few quid first!

They finally dropped the VAT back to 15%?
About fucking time.

I seem to recall it was only supposed to be a temporary increase. I could be misremembering though as I was only a kid at the time.
