I accidentally typed £200 on a cashpoint once instead of £20. I didn't really have the money in the account (being a poor student at the time) so let the machine suck it back in. It was a fucking nightmare getting the bank to credit it back. It gets sucked back into a separate compartment and someone visually inspects it before it is re credited.

I've heard a lot of people believe this.
I've also heard the people who believe this have been sucked into a lie and it's all false.

Either way, I'd rather not risk my money being sucked away forever or taken by the next person. =p
