This is a question The Credit Crunch

Did you score a bargain in Woolworths?
Meet someone nice in the queue to withdraw your 10p from Northern Rock?
Get made redundant from the job you hated enough to spend all day on b3ta?

How has the credit crunch affected you?

Just Desserts
Well, having said earlier on this week that it didn't seem to be affecting me too badly, I've just got out of a staff meeting where we've been told we won't get paid for this month as the company can't afford it...

Ho hum, time to do even less work and even more b3ta than usual then!

Can they do that?
Sounds highly illegal.

If they haven't got any money then they can't give to us can they?
Apparently they're being taken over and soon we'll all be millionaires if we just wait patiently while the bills pile up...

Hmmm...

Say whaAAAAT???!!!!
Not going to get paid for the month EVER? Sure, if they need a week but NEVER?

Sorry to hear
that, fella. Get a cuppa, put your feet up, and tell um to fuck off if they think you'll be doing any work for the rest of the day, the fuckers...

Yikes...

That's a bummer.

Like the above reply though, I have to ask...

Is this a 'delay' in your wages, or an actual permanent non-payment?
(, Thu 29 Jan 2009, 11:24, closed)
Well... this is half the problem...
At the moment it's a delay of between a few days and two weeks... but they have previous form in this matter...

yeah id be fuming if my company did that to me...
... infact i think id grab a sleeping bag and refuse to leave the premises stating that i lost my house as i couldnt pay my rent. I'd break into the vending machine stating that I need food.... and keep it up until the rozzers escort me off.
