Some peoplecan't understand this sort of thing at all. My dad, who is reasonably intelligent, is completely at a loss to understand how he can be watching terrestrial television when the green light is illuminated on his Sky box. He is convinced that he's watching the picture for the satellite when the box is on. I've tried explaining numerous times that the light merely indicates that the box is switched on, not that the television is necessarily displaying the signal from it, but to no avail.
I must draw a block diagram for him one day.
