The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.
Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

I've worried about this too!
Well, not really worried but it has crossed my mind.
I now use one of the following two:
1. "Hi there, could I order a taxi for (location) please?"
2. "Hi there, do you have a taxi available now?" (if it's fri/sat night and taxi company could be busy)
