This is a question Customers from Hell

The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.

Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

Surely the
Sale of Goods act has been superceded with SOGAS act?

Anyway, that aside, I know chapter 9 of the Data Protection Act more-or-less inside out.

I used to love it when firms phoned up for my misses, but "couldn't tell me the name of the company they were calling from" due to the Data Protection Act.

I used to ask which section they were quoting from etc...

It used to get me right down, as one particular firm (Loans.co.uk) couldn't even pronounce their own name correctly (once I had convinced them that the DPA wasn't relevant to them) and they would phone at 7am on a fucking Saturday.

One day, I even had a recorded delivery junk mail from them.

No matter how many times they were told that if I wanted a loan or my misses did, we would phone up and arrange one. I'm not the idiot out of the 'picture loans' ad, if I don't need a loan, no amount of cold calling is going to make me take one.

Anyway - /rant.
