My mate's dad, when we were mid-teenagers, took us out to dinner, out 'round Soho to see "the wet weather gear", and then for a pint.Obviously this made him the coolest man on the planet at this point.
It was over the pint that he imparted to us a piece of sound advice that was clearly carved with experience:
"Never go to a spaghetti house on a first date."
