Because when you read, you receive information.Its not possible to read newspapers in dreams. Reading requires a level of concentration which you dont have when dreaming. But the main reason is that you are receiving information. Obviously as the newspaper isnt real, theres no information on it. So it becomes a frustrating blur trying to read the newspaper.
When someone else speaks or does something in a dream, that is down to interpretation.
