Sorley Tunnel - Devon
There's a small adventure park in Kingsbridge Devon called Sorley Tunnel that has farm animals and tractors and the like. So far so family friendly. It also has a disused railway tunnel (hense the name) that you can walk down about 1/2 a mile to experiense complete darkness.
We went a couple of years ago, we being my wife and 4 year old son and my brother and his family. All i can say is that we managed about 100 meters before all 4 adults bricked it and legged it back to the daylight - kids complaining that we didnt get to the end. We vowed to not mention this in public again.

I had a similar experience
Last year, out exloring, we came across a disused railway tunnel - we could dimly see light at the other end and so decided to walk it.
We lost our nerve as soon as we couldn't see the ground under our feet any more, as the imagination starts to fill in all kinds or terrors like sharp blades and bottomless pits.

Sadly...
...Sorley Tunnel closed a couple of years ago. We live just down the road, and used to take the kids pretty much every weekend so they could mess about in the soft play area. I never did go down to the tunnel itself, the kids were too small at the time to be much interested.

If anyone wants to own a railway tunnel all of their own (and the bloody great farm that comes with it) then it's still for sale.
