Apparently*, paracetamol is the worst thing to attempt to OD with.
It tends to kill you by causing liver failure, but what people don't realise is that it takes several painful days for that to happen. In the meantime you have irreversible liver damage which, should you change your mind in all your agony, can only be fixed by giving you a transplant. You are therefore likely to end up dying slowly in hospital with all your friends and family knowing exactly what you've done. And you have to face them because you're not dead yet. I think I'd rather jump off a tall building.

*This was told to me by an emergency department doctor doing a study on the usefulness of activated charcoal. I choose to believe her without the personal experience.
