When you are in a bar in Europe and you hear shouting and see people running past the window you go out and have a look don't you? If it is interesting you may even take a picture.

It was a bad idea to take that stance in 1988 whilst in Jerusalem at the height of the Intifada protests. As I put my beer down and tried to open my camera I was hit on the back of the head with a rifle butt by an Israeli soldier who stamped on my camera and put the business end of his gun to the back of head.

I am not sure where it came from but I heard myself saying 'You didn't have to break my camera, you soft cunt'.

He hit me again and I was carted off for 36 hours in the cells without food, water, or my passport. (Which I think is against the rules of hockey.)

Still, at least he didn't shoot me like the soldiers did with 24 other people in the area -including tourists.

to make me sympathise with Islamic Fundamentalists, but the Israelis have managed it.

The systematic persecution and genocide they are carrying out against Palestine is just sickening. One kid throws a pebble at an Israeli solder because they bombed his house? Send in the Tanks! Two guerillas fire a bottle rocket that hits an Israeli donkey? Let's send in the gunships!

Best of all, the blanket denial of any wrogndoing and trying to say the UN was hiding Hamas fighters, when they bombed a UN food and medicine store - couldn't be that if they'd had it, the Palestinians would've had more of a bargaining position, could it?

I never, ever, want to hear another Jewish person whine about the Holocaust - they can't get sympathy for six years of crap under the Nazis when they have declared war on the Palestinians for 62 years....warmongering fuckers.

Having suffered an atrocity does not infer carte blanche to inflict an equal level to someone else.
