I agree with the previous repliesShe was playing games, and you don't need that. If she was genuinely interested, she wouldn't have let it fizzle out after one failed attempt.
In fact, if you had gone for it, she'd have probably got you all fired up then "Changed her mind", just to watch you squirm. She lost interest because you weren't the compliant doormat she wanted to dangle on the end of a string.
