DansetteUsed to get old Dansette record players from jumble sales/church fetes etc as a kid for 20 - 50p. Great laugh smashing them to pieces, the valves make a fairly mini explosion when lobbed at a wall.
Fast forward to now, have you seen how much they go for these days?

About fifty quid in jumble sale nick and a couple of hundred if they're cleaned up and serviced.You did it once. You've lost out on fifty quid. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. I can lend you a ton if you're really desperate.
