Desperate Times
Stranded in a hotel in an African war zone with no internet access for two weeks, I was forced to resort to desperate measures. Possessing only my passport and the clothes I stood up in; and the warning "You can catch it shaking hands with a vicar out there" ringing in my ears, I had to draw my own porn in order to preserve my sanity.
Alas, it all came out looking like Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts, but, as they say, any port in a storm.
What have you done in times of great desperation?

I'm with Vipros on the bargain thing.
I do my clothes shopping in the US of A. Especially good value with the weak dollar at the moment.
My Timberland shoes, which I'm wearing at the moment, cost me the equivalent of £35 in the US at a discount outlet. They're about £90 here. Likewise my jeans were 1/3 of the UK price in America, and I have a heap of Ralph Lauren shirts also bought over the pond for much less than half the cost they are here.
Not that I suggest flying to America to do clothes shopping, but if you happen to be over there anyway I'd highly recommend stocking up!
