I'm so sorryIt's very hard to lose a pet you love, and yes... dead cats are cold... and hard. One of my kittens died suddenly when I was 8 and I remember that final, cold good-bye touch so clearly.
I'm so sorry you and he had to go through this; please try not to think "What if," because it'll only make it worse. I hope you're doing all right, and healing after such a sad event.
